Project story

A story of jade and Maitreya culture.

Here, patronage means voluntary support for culture and related work; intention is its starting point. In Buddhist tradition, Maitreya embodies hopes for compassion, openness and the future. This proposal connects carving, a cultural setting and the people who gather around it.

A jade Maitreya sculpture brings together cultural heritage, voluntary support and hopes for the future.

The proposal sets a worldwide limit of 10,800 units, inviting supporters to share a symbolic light for peace.

A community initiative rooted in goodwill: voluntary support for cultural work and the common good.

Currently open for information and expressions of interest only. No payment or purchase takes place.

A stone, an intention

The Tianbao rough stone

A stone, and a journey across mountains.

The project overview describes a 19.7-tonne, 3.3-metre-high stone from the Laolongbei mining area in Hpakant, Myanmar.

The project narrative describes transport by elephants and manual labour through Myanmar to Ningbo, China. Its reference to “eighty-one trials” is a literary expression of that difficult journey.

Origin, measurements and transport history follow the project overview. The stone image is an artistic visualization.

Shaped with care.
Carried forward with compassion.

The name Tianbao, and a wish to serve others.

The project narrative says its initiator asked a Buddhist teacher to name the stone “Tianbao,” with a wish to create a sacred image and share its care with the community.

The proposal’s counsel to benefit others rather than keep the object solely for oneself connects the naming story with generosity, shared care and compassion.

This is the project’s account of the naming. Language of destiny and protection expresses faith, not a verified supernatural event or promised outcome.

From rough stone to an open-hearted smile.

The proposal describes the 19.7-tonne rough stone becoming an 11.8-tonne jade Maitreya sculpture. Its green colour, natural texture and welcoming expression form the artistic centre of Tianbao Huafa.

The Maitreya image carries hopes for compassion and the future. The individual carving and the stone’s natural texture give the work its character.

Artistic visualization. Measurements, materials and craftsmanship are subject to physical verification and formal announcement.

The sculpture and related documents

The project overview lists a length of 2.66 m, width of 1.5 m, height of 1.5 m and weight of 11.8 tonnes. It also reproduces a WRCA record certificate and a test-report image.

“The world’s largest jade Maitreya” is a claim made in the proposal. The certificate, scope of recognition, test findings and permission to display the documents remain to be verified.

The proposal also cites an appraisal of RMB 1.8 billion. This is documented here as source material, remains unverified, and is not a basis for the plan’s price, value or any return.

Certification, testing and appraisal information await independent verification and are not a basis for price or returns.

Encounters preserved in calligraphy.

Encounters preserved in calligraphy.

The project overview includes calligraphy reading “Tianbao Huafa,” attributed to Venerable Master Hsing Yun, founder of Fo Guang Shan.

A second inscription is attributed to Ban Ki-moon, whom the project overview identifies by his roles as the eighth UN Secretary-General and Chair of the Boao Forum for Asia.

The proposal describes a collection of inscriptions by public figures and Buddhist teachers, referring to one hundred contributors worldwide. The list, number and permissions have not been confirmed.

Attribution, the contributor list and display permissions await confirmation. No endorsement of this fundraising plan by a person, Buddhist body, the United Nations or another institution is established.

A setting for a shared intention

A setting for Maitreya culture at Xuedou Mountain

Xuedou Mountain, a setting for Maitreya culture.

The project overview places the proposed installation and cultural activities at the Maitreya Sanctuary on Xuedou Mountain, which it introduces as one of China’s five major Buddhist mountains.

It describes a proposed association with the Maitreya-themed complex and cites investment of RMB 1.196 billion and a “world’s largest” claim. These scale claims and the formal cooperation status remain unconfirmed.

May lands be peaceful and all people flourish. The installation vision expresses a shared wish for a peaceful world through compassion and openness.

Venue cooperation, installation status and timing await formal confirmation. Architectural and interior images are artistic visualizations of a cultural setting.

A place to gather, a wish to sustain.

The project overview envisions the Maitreya Sanctuary as a lasting setting for Tianbao Huafa and a gathering place for symbolic lights of peace.

The proposed setting connects the sculpture, sanctuary, lamp offerings and visits, inviting an understanding of the openness and harmony associated with Maitreya.

A lasting installation is the plan’s aspiration. The scene is an artistic visualization, not confirmation of installation or a signed agreement.

A vision for the sanctuary setting

Compassion, shared in a wish for peace

A light for enduring goodwill

A compassionate intention.
A wish for a peaceful world.

Compassion as a wish for peace.

“An Eastern messenger of peace” is the project overview’s cultural metaphor for responding to turmoil with compassion and openness.

The reference to “sixty million Chinese people worldwide” expresses the project overview’s global aspiration. Its invitation centres on 10,800 limited units and a shared symbolic light for peace.

References to Maitreya’s advent are religious imagery. The population figure is not a count of participants, supporters or endorsements.

A shared wish, carried by individual kindness.

May individual lights join like stars in a shared wish for future peace, meeting conflict with compassion and care.

The cultural invitation reaches Chinese communities worldwide: learning about the sanctuary, supporting voluntarily, and carrying goodwill into dialogue and action.

This is a cultural aspiration. The source’s population figure and religious imagery are neither participation statistics nor promises of results.
