From the carving of jade to a meeting of cultures.
Tianbao Huafa takes a jade Maitreya sculpture as its starting point, bringing together carving, Buddhist cultural heritage and the wish to offer support. The project hopes to make a work of cultural art a place of understanding and care.
In Buddhist tradition, Maitreya is associated with compassion and hope for the future. The smiling figure offers an accessible way to reflect on generosity, openness and harmony.
Here, “patronage” means voluntary support for culture and related work. In the Buddhist context, this begins with a sincere intention to help.
May compassion be felt, and kindness continue.

Project materials identify the Maitreya Sanctuary (弥勒圣坛) as an important cultural setting for proposed displays, visits, exchanges and patronage activities around Tianbao Huafa.
With respect for faith and cultural tradition, the vision is to create opportunities to gather, learn from one another and express wishes for peace for families and the wider world.
Venue arrangements, display status and activity plans will be set out in future official announcements.
