At Xuedou Mountain,
a shared hope for the future.

The 1101 project presentation sets the proposed patronage and installation of the Tianbao Huafa jade Maitreya sculpture in the cultural context of Xuedou Mountain’s Maitreya Sanctuary. The sculpture is the subject of the initiative, connecting carving, Maitreya heritage, visits and cultural exchange.

In Buddhist tradition, Maitreya is associated with compassion and hope for the future. The initiative seeks voluntary support for cultural heritage, with wishes for understanding, harmony and peace.

Installation status, venue cooperation and implementation dates remain subject to the project’s official announcements.

The project presentation describes a 19.7-tonne piece of jade carved into an 11.8-tonne Maitreya sculpture. From the natural material to the open smile, its craftsmanship expresses the approachable generosity associated with the figure.

Here, patronage means voluntary support for culture and related work. In the Buddhist context, it begins with a sincere intention to help. Commemorative inscriptions, lamp offerings and cultural gatherings are proposed expressions of that intention.
